Opportunity Description
Job Title: Mobile Fitter (Rail Freight)
Purpose of Role To support the maintenance and repair of rail freight vehicles, carrying out mechanical and electrical work while developing engineering skills in a safety-critical environment.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out scheduled maintenance at approved locations
Perform mechanical and electrical repairs on locomotives and rolling stock
Test and assess equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation
Work in line with Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and company procedures
Complete accurate maintenance documentation
Maintain high standards of safety, cleanliness, and workmanship
Work independently or as part of a team under supervision when requiredEssential Requirements
NVQ Level 3 in a relevant engineering discipline
Full UK Driving Licence
