Role Overview

Serco is looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our FM department at HMP Ashfield, a Category C male establishment prison based in Pucklechurch near Bristol. The role involves carrying out routine HVAC and/or mechanical engineering work, preventative maintenance and repairs, and ensuring maintenance schedules are kept current.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out fault finding and defect rectification of installed plant and equipment.
• Assist in multi‑trade support of other FM team members, including plumbing.
• Escort contractors around the site following written procedures.
• Install new plant and apparatus as defined and specified.
• Investigate plant and equipment performance, produce reports and recommendations.
• Maintain knowledge of all operating and maintenance systems and equipment across the premises.
