Optical Components Product Engineer (Ottawa)

This is an onsite role in Ottawa. How You Will Contribute

Act as the design authority for products in manufacture, providing support for failure analysis and development for Ciena and contract manufacturer engineers. Collaborate with R&D and Operations teams to define production requirements and specifications for processes and tests. Develop and maintain process and assembly tools in manufacturing, driving continuous improvements in design for manufacturability (DFM). Review and update PFMEA to ensure product reliability and quality. Lead training programs for contract manufacturer operators and engineers, ensuring knowledge transfer and operational excellence. Manage product lifecycle from launch to mass production, tracking yields and implementing cost reduction plans through BOM management.
