Orientation & Mobility Specialist (COMS) - Community Travel Intensive

We are looking for a COMS who loves the real world application of mobility. This role involves in-person, high-impact instruction in the Yreka, CA area. We are offering premium rates and travel stipends for a specialist to help a student gain spatial confidence in both rural and urban environments. The rate for this position is $55 to $75 per hour.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide in-person, 1:1 O&M instruction focusing on street crossings and environmental mapping.
• Lead travel intensives to busier urban centers to build transportation fluency.
• Assess and refine cane techniques for a student with declining vision.
• Document progress for compensatory hour fulfillment.

Requirements:

• ACVREP Certification (COMS).
