Orthopaedic Technologist (Emergency Department) (Toronto)

Overview

The Orthopaedic Technologist serves as a technical expert in matters pertaining to orthopaedic devices and techniques providing care to patients through the application, adjustment and removal of a variety of casts, bandages, slings, splints and traction fittings etc.

The Orthopaedic Technologist fullfills the responsibilities of the position with a high degree of autonomy within established guidelines working under the direction of a Supervising Physician to preform enhanced skills.

Education

• Completion of a recognized Orthopaedic Technologist Program.
• Completion of a Physician sponsored Apprenticeship Program (2 years - in an Emergency Department) required.
• Current registration with - Canadian Society of Orthopaedic Technologists required.
• Member of local chapter of the Candadian Society of Orthopaedic Technologists required.
