Paramedic
The Paramedic is a member of the medical care team trained and certified to render supportive care to the patient, sustain life at the scene of accidental injury or sudden illness during transport to a hospital, and is qualified to begin corrective treatment as directed under State Protocol or instructed by Medical Command.
Minimum Qualifications
Education, Certification, and/or Licensure:
- Must possess current certification as required by state board where services will be provided: OH: Paramedic Certification through Ohio Emergency Medical Services WV: Paramedic Certification through the West Virginia Office of Emergency Medical Services (OEMS)
- Nationally registered as Paramedic: WV: Paramedic through National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (Unless WV state license is State License Only (SLO) OH: No National Registry required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire
