Opportunity Description
Lead the Parks and Horticulture team in Merritt as a Supervisor for an 18-month term. Manage the city's landscaped environments and ensure exceptional maintenance and service delivery.
As a key member of the Public Works leadership team in Merritt, you will supervise operations related to parks, gardens, and athletic fields. With a strong foundation in horticulture, your role will involve leading a dedicated crew, promoting safety compliance, and actively participating in landscaping and gardening tasks. In winter months, you'll support broader Public Works operations including snow removal.
Key Responsibilities:
• Organize operational plans for park and garden maintenance
• Supervise landscaping activities and crew performance
• Ensure safety culture adherence within the team
• Apply horticultural knowledge for plant growth and care
• Participate in snow removal and winter maintenance
Requirements:
• Post-secondary education in horticulture or landscaping
