About the Role
At Acorns Children’s Hospice, we provide specialist palliative care for children and young people with life‑limiting and life‑threatening conditions, supporting their families through every step of the journey. Our Children’s Palliative Community Nurses are part of a supportive, multi‑disciplinary team delivering care that is tailored to each child’s individual holistic needs.
As a Children’s Palliative Community Nurse you will:
- Deliver evidence‑based end‑of‑life and symptom management and after‑death care to children and young people outside of the hospice.
- Use clinical skills, including caring for children who require long‑term ventilation, tracheostomy care, oxygen therapy, suction, syringe drivers and enteral feeding, and other related care. These competencies are developed and maintained through structured, competency‑based training.
