The Access Operations Department at MD Anderson Cancer Center plays an essential role in helping patients connect quickly and smoothly with the care they need. The department focuses on scheduling, patient support, and improving operational flow so clinical teams can devote more time to patient care and continue delivering exceptional cancer treatment.
The Patient Access Representative is responsible for ensuring accurate, efficient, and courteous access for new patients. This role includes providing outstanding customer service, communicating with referral sources, scheduling and registering new patients, verifying insurance, securing authorizations, and advising patients about their financial responsibilities. The Patient Access Representative supports the organization's mission by contributing to strong access and phone service performance. In addition, the Patient Access Representative may coach and mentor Associate-level staff and support department-wide improvement efforts.
