**Job Description:**

The Patient Care Technician functions as a clinical support partner, assisting the patient care team by performing various tasks and procedures as instructed by a licensed professional. Additionally, the Patient Care Technician may assume the responsibilities of a Health Unit Coordinator.

**Unit Description:**

The Surgical Care Unit is a 34 bed unit that serves a variety of surgical patients including ENT, abdominal, thoracic, urology, plastic, bariatric, and general surgery. PCT’s assist with vitals, ambulation, ADL’s, glucometers, and I/O’s. The numerous procedures seen on our unit allow PCT’s to develop skills with many types of drains, procedures, and patients. Our unit is education focused, filled with hardworking caregivers, and provides many opportunities for learning and growth. Caregivers strive to provide excellent care while creating a fun and supportive environment.
