Payroll Specialist

Description We are looking for a Payroll Specialist to join a non-profit organization in New York, New York on a contract basis with the potential for a permanent position. This position will support accurate and timely payroll operations while assisting with reconciliations, accounting entries, and month-end activities. The ideal candidate brings strong payroll experience, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
• Process semi-monthly payroll for hourly employees with a high degree of accuracy and timeliness.
• Review payroll data, validate earnings and deductions, and resolve discrepancies before final submission.
• Complete bank and credit card reconciliations and investigate any variances identified during the review process.
• Prepare and post payroll-related entries to the general ledger to support accurate financial reporting.
