Responsibilities
- Carrying out Pharmacy ward top-up services
- Picking and packing appropriate goods for delivery to wards and departments
- Checking and putting away Pharmacy deliveries
- Processing returns and waste medicines in line with departmental policy
- Familiarity with the pharmacy computer system
- Carrying out ward/department top-ups on any sites serviced by the Purchasing and Distribution Unit
- Checking expiry dates on wards and ensuring drug cupboards maintained to an acceptable standard
- Assembling ward and dispensary picking lists
- Answering telephones and dealing with queries
- Printing stock to-follow lists for wards & dispensaries
- Regularly checking for short dated and expired stock within the distribution or store area
- Printing ward stock lists as required
- Assisting Senior Distribution Assistant in maintaining a tidy, safe, efficient working environment
