+ Perform blood draws, including venipuncture and specimen collection
+ Label, centrifuge, split, and store specimens according to established procedures
+ Accurately record maintenance data and perform decontamination procedures
+ Update and maintain patient information in system records
+ Collect and store specimens in compliance with required protocols
+ Clearly and professionally explain specimen collection procedures (blood, urine, fecal, etc.) to patients
+ Demonstrate proper technique using straight needles and butterfly needles
+ Review and fully understand physician orders prior to collection
+ Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes with 100% accuracy
+ Verify all test requisitions and computer labels against orders to ensure accuracy
+ Package specimens and prepare them for transport
