Job Overview

Applications are invited for the position of a Specialty Doctor (Neonatal Unit) at Aberdeen Maternity Hospital, NHS Grampian.

The Neonatal Unit is part of the Aberdeen Maternity Hospital and the Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital, providing principal neonatal and paediatric services in the Grampian Region.

As a full‑time post of 10 programmed activities per week, the role involves clinical care across a range of neonatal services such as ECHO, therapeutic hypothermia, NO and HFO ventilation, and support of the ScotStar neonatal transport service for regional cover.

The successful candidate will work within a multidisciplinary team of Consultants, Specialty Doctors, Middle and Junior Grade Medical Staff, ANNPs and nursing/midwifery teams, contributing to clinical services, teaching, audit and research.
