Opportunity Description
The Group of Research in Biophotonics and Biomedical Optics (GIBIO) at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP) invites applications from outstanding early-career researchers interested in joining an internationally oriented research program focused on corneal biomechanics and advanced ophthalmic imaging. The proposed research focuses on the biomechanical characterization of the human cornea using Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) and Optical Coherence Elastography (OCE), with applications in the early detection and staging of keratoconus and the monitoring of corneal crosslinking (CXL) treatments.
Research Topics
The successful candidate will participate in research activities involve:
- Early diagnosis and staging of keratoconus using optical methods
- Monitoring the biomechanical effects of corneal crosslinking (CXL)
- Corneal biomechanics assessment using Optical Coherence Elastography (OCE)
- Translational oph...
