Pre-Operative Nurse

Assists the PACU Charge Nurse in the daily clinical operations of the PACU in accordance with established federal, state, and accreditation standards and center policies and procedures. Participates in direct patient care including maintaining a clean, orderly and safe environment. The pre-operative nurse is responsible for planning, directing, coordinating and providing high quality, individualized patient care in the pre-operative period of the patient's surgical experience.

• Assesses patient/significant others understanding of disease process and need for surgical intervention.
