Mō te tūnga | About the role: We are looking for an enthusiastic Predator Free Field Technician to carry out field activities associated with the Towards Predator‑Free Taranaki programme. This work will contribute to the Regional Pest Management Plan for Taranaki and the Council Biodiversity Strategy. Tasks include detection surveys to identify the presence of predators, providing guidance to landowners and undertaking pest animal control.
The work will mostly be based in and around Ōkato and Ōākura, however travel across the wider region may be required.
This role sits within the Towards Predator‑Free Taranaki team and you will receive support from the Programme Lead – Towards Predator‑Free Taranaki, Environment Services Manager and the Environment Services team.
This position is fixed term until 30 June 2027.
