Predoctoral or Postdoctoral Fellow in Religious Studies – Judaic Studies

The Religious Studies Department at Hobart and William Smith Colleges invites applications for a predoctoral or postdoctoral fellowship position in Judaic Studies beginning August 1, 2026. This is a full-time, one-year position with a teaching load of four courses per year. The appointment has the possibility for renewal contingent on successful annual review and ongoing curricular needs. Candidates for this position should have a Ph.D. or ABD in a relevant field by August 2026.

Candidates should have formal training and/or teaching and research experience in Judaic Studies and must be able to teach courses on topics such as, but not limited to Modern Jewish Thought, History of Judaism, Holocaust, Jewish Mysticism, Jewish Rite and Ritual, Gender and Sexuality in Judaism, Ancient Judaism, or Jewish Ethics.
