Job Description The Environmental Controls organization is the Laboratory's subject matter experts in the radiological environmental monitoring program. The monitoring program is required by Federal, State, and local environmental regulations and/or NAVSEA direction. Efforts include performance of radiological dose assessments for normal and accident conditions; issuing reports to regulatory agencies as necessary; monitor, review and interpret environmental requirements; assess and enforce compliance; and, provide technical and analytical consultation to Bettis, other Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program (Program) facilities, and NAVSEA including Navy and/or Naval shipyards. Individual is responsible for the development and/or follow of programs or projects to ensure compliance with operational, design, regulatory and Program requirements and may perform work document reviews, engineering evaluations, analyses or assessments to support assigned tasks.
