Principal Rail Telecommunications Engineer

To undertake Radio / Telecommunications systems design & engineering activities within the group, Lead the team for projects independently, analyse the project requirements and provide input to the project manager in respect of both design and consultancy services. To provide technical support and assistance.

Responsibilities

Undertaking of tasks as assigned, in particular:

• The candidate shall be responsible for the Co-ordination and assurance of Telecommunications Systems design. The candidate is required to have a proven working knowledge of the activities necessary to produce fully assured designs for the following systems
• Radio systems (UHF analogue radio, Tetra Radio, DAS, DMR, GSM-R, LTE, 5G, Point to Point microwave and WiFi technologies),
• Structured Cabling,
• Public Address / Voice Alarm systems,
• Passenger Information System,
• Closed Circuit Television systems,
• Access Control systems,
