Position Summary
Northern Health is seeking a psychiatrist to serve the ocean side community of Prince Rupert and surrounding communities including Terrace and Smithers. The psychiatrist will be part of the Northwest Psychiatry Team, working within a community mental health team and collaborating closely with family physicians. They will primarily be based at Prince Rupert Regional Hospital, can work remotely, and will visit Prince Rupert throughout the year.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient assessments and treatment planning.
- Provide ongoing patient‑centered consultation and education to physicians and interdisciplinary mental health teams to advance effective treatment.
- Participate in the provision of area‑based continuum of psychiatric services, including assessment of patients in the regional hospital observation unit.
