Purchase Associate

Job Summary:
Responsible for purchasing various commodities and services, including but not limited to, capital equipment, software, vehicles, furniture, lab supplies, printing services, laboratory animals, general supplies, and services provided by independent contractors. This individual, if they have not already, will be given the opportunity to gain a critical understanding of New York State and State University of New York procurement policies and regulations and apply that knowledge to their day-to day responsibilities. The Purchase Associate must have the capabilities to review higher dollar level transactions to determine whether competitive bidding is required. The Purchase Associate will need to work with end-users to develop comprehensive specifications for goods and services.
