Quantity surveyors asthe cost managers of construction . They define their role to span all project phases starting with the preparation of a project's capital expenditure until the operational maintenance and demolition of a facility.

Quantity surveyors areresponsible for managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects . Quantity surveyors manage the costs on a construction project. They help to ensure that the construction project is completed within its projected budget

• Rice/forecast the cost of the different materials needed for the project
• Prepare tender documents, contracts, budgets, bills of quantities and other documentation
• Track changes to the design and/or construction work and adjust budget projections accordingly
• Procure or agree the services of contractors and/or subcontractors who work on the construction of the project
• Measure and value the work done on site
