UMass Memorial Health is the leading health care provider in central Massachusetts, serving a catchment area of approximately 1 million people. UMass Memorial Medical Center is the major academic teaching hospital for UMass Chan Medical School and serves as the regional comprehensive stroke center with American Heart & Stroke association and The Joint Commission Gold Seal of Approval accreditations, and performs over 700 diagnostic catheter angiograms, over 175 large and medium vessel thrombectomies and over 165 endovascular treatments for intracranial aneurysms per year.
