MRI Technologist I

The MRI Technologist I performs procedures in accordance with departmental protocols and standards. This position operates MRI scanners and associated equipment with a high level of proficiency. The equipment includes scanners, post-processing stations/programs, IV contrast injectors, O2 and suction equipment, patient transport, and patient monitoring equipment. The technologist examines requests and verifies orders on each assigned patient. Orders are referred and questioned to the Radiologist before performing the exam. The technologist contacts the ordering provider when there are discrepancies. Proper identification is established using two patient identifiers to assist patients while offering a brief explanation of the procedures. Patients are prepared for the procedure with a full explanation documented on appropriate worksheets. The technologist interviews patients for a complete medical history.
