Recreation Aid (Lifeguard/WSI)

Summary This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the JBSA Lackland Outdoor Recreation. This is a flexible position with guaranteed 00 hours per week. You may be scheduled up to 40 hours per week. Employees appointed to a flexible category position are not eligible for benefits Responsibilities The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a lifeguard and perform other related swimming facility duties. May act as a senior lifeguard at a large facility, or the only lifeguard at a small facility. Monitors activities within assigned swimming areas. Maintains order and enforces established rules of safety and behavior. Instructs, cautions, and/or expels patrons as appropriate. Reports problems to senior lifeguard or supervisor. Rescues and resuscitates individuals in danger of drowning and renders first aid to injuries using a variety of techniques such as artificial respiration, CPR, and first aid.
