Recreation Assistant

Summary About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Shaw Youth Center. Responsibilities Performs and/or assists in the operation of a Youth Sports program. Establishes and maintains schedules of events as well as the rules and regulations, and by-laws to be observed. Sets up Gymnasium and athletic fields for sporting events, tournaments, and practices that require a practical knowledge of the rules and procedures of such activities (i.e., simply not manual labor assignments); inspects sports facilities and equipment for security and general conditions. Prepares and maintains youth ball fields to insure safety requirements as well as proper field layout specification are met. Aids participating youth ages 5-17 in a variety of recreational programs to include sports, fitness programs, and tournaments.
