Recreation Officer - Kapiti Cottage

About the role

Our permanent team are experienced and dedicated to providing a high quality experience for our Elders. We are looking for a new team member to join us to support our regular activity programmes and special events.

As a Recreation Officer, you will work as a member of a small permanent team to plan and facilitate individual recreation plans for our Elders, as well as deliver the day to day recreation programmes. This involves running daily activities with our team, which includes a number of regular volunteers, and casual team members, planning the social calendar for the day service and supporting our Elders to pursue their interests. You will encourage Elders to maintain their independence and maintain connections with their community.

 The key aspects of the role involve the delivery of a day service delivery that responds to individual Elders needs, maintains brain health and provides a rich and diverse experience.
