- The Recycling Officer is integral to the successful delivery of the Food Waste Collection Project, a high-profile and time-sensitive service. This role is pivotal in engaging with residents, promoting behavior change, increasing participation in recycling initiatives, and supporting broader environmental and Council objectives. Primarily field-based, the position also involves administrative and project support responsibilities, acting as the public face of the service.
Responsibilities
- Lead community engagement efforts across street scene and waste services.
- Engage with residents through door knocking, public events, outreach activities, school assemblies, and community sessions.
- Promote food waste recycling, environmental initiatives, and sustainable behaviors.
