Registered Nurse

The Public Health Nurse (PHN) is a member of the Edmonton Zone Public Health (PH) team. Your PHN opportunity is to be a generalist in the Healthy Young Families (HYF) program and includes services offered in the Well Child Clinic, School Health, and Healthy Beginnings programs. Using the nursing process, you deliver PH services including antenatal/prenatal care; routine postnatal care, health assessment, counseling, screening, immunization, follow‑up and referral, linkage, advocacy, consultation, health promotion, and teaching as they relate to preschool and school‑aged children, families, and adults. The PHN will collaborate with community agencies and external service providers to coordinate client care and provide informed referrals for individuals and families.
