Opportunity Description
Summary Infection Preventionist, delivers fundamental infection control knowledge to the Veteran population and Veteran Affairs (VA) employees while developing technical skills and/or supervising infection control practices. Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates infection control practices based on age-specific components. Responsibilities Duties included but are not limited to: Promotes personal growth and development of infection control nursing practices. Conducts surveillance indicators and monitoring to identify and reduce the risk of acquiring and transmitting infections among patients, employees, visitors, and students. Provides education on infection control issues, as well as annual and ongoing trainings to staff. Serves as an education resource for all employees on infection control, epidemiology, and provides knowledge and guidance.
