The ortho unit sees both elective cases (total hip and knee replacements) and trauma patients (hip, femur and other fractures). There is a comprehensive joint replacement program focused on patients and their significant others and the role they play in the healing process. They promote families to stay with patients as much as possible and for them to join group therapy sessions. There is a good skill mix on the unit. The unit culture is very positive.
