Registered Nurse - PCU

The Intermediate Care unit (IMCU) is a critical care step-down unit dedicated to providing exceptional, evidence-based care to patients. The unit receives patients from many areas, including but not limited to: the Emergency Department, Post Anesthesia Care Unit, Intensive Care Unit, and medical-surgical floors. The patient population consists of adult, acute care patients who require more specialized care than is available on a general medical-surgical unit. All patients have continuous pulse-oximetry and telemetry monitoring. The team cares for patients needing airway management, acute BIPAP support, patients with arterial lines, central lines and patients requiring titrated medicated IV infusions. Patient care services vary widely, depending on each individual's specific needs. The team adapts quickly, is vigilant and provides compassionate care using a multi-disciplinary approach.
