Assess, plan, organize, supervise, provide and evaluate nursing care utilizing the nursing process and critical thinking. Make nursing judgments and decisions, assume responsibility for nursing care and documentation, and commit to patient safety and experience in accordance with nursing philosophy and Standards of Care and Practice.
Initiates and completes patient assessments throughout the continuum of care (admission to discharge); identifies physical, social and psychological responses of patients and family using interviewing and physical assessment skills. Modify standard of nursing care to reflect needs and changes in patient status; set reasonable goals and designates intervention to treat identified problems/needs. Use professional nursing judgment regarding patient’s condition in relation to physician’s orders and protocols and administer medications and treatments, optimally upholding a safe patient environment and clinical practices.
