Summary of Duties
RPNs are responsible for the total care of a group of residents within a Primary Nursing care delivery model within their scope of practice. The RPN supports the philosophy of Patient-Focused Care concept and principles and the Mission and Values of Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. The RPN works closely with the Interprofessional Team.
Qualifications / Skills
- Current Ontario College of Nurses Registration
- Current B.C.L.S
- Diploma RPN or equivalent
- Patient and Family focused care philosophy required
- Experience in Long Term Care required
- Recent nursing experience in gerontology
- Experience with dementia preferred
- Psychogeriatric experience a definite asset
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated attention to detail
- Experience with primary nursing an asset
- Strong assessment skills
