Registered Ultrasonographer – Radiology – St. Vincent Medical Center – PRN

**SUMMARY:**

Provides a full-range of ultrasound technical procedures under the direction of a radiologist. Clerical procedures, aid functions and other duties are provided as assigned. Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patient served on assigned unit.

**KNOWLEDGE, SKILS, AND ABILITIES:**

**Education:**

+ Graduate of approved JRC program. Holds current BLS CPR Card

**Knowledge & Abilities:**

+ Attends education programs as described by department policy
+ Participates in staff meeting and stays abreast of change in policies, procedures and technical advancements.
+ Employs safe operation principles of ultrasound equipment.
+ Knowledge of hospital procedures including infection control
+ Skills include accuracy in patient positioning and scientific application of established technical factors
