# About you
To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience: **Essential criteria** 1. minimum of MSc, MA in materials engineering/science, heritage conservation or related field or relevant lab/museum experience at an appropriate level. 2. good knowledge and research experience in conservation science/ materials science. 3. experience in materials characterization, analysis and interpretation, with emphasis on techniques relevant to the project such as scanning electron microscopy, digital image correlation, (DIC), focused ion beam (FIB) analysis, or related methods. 4. experience in preparing scientific reports/journal papers 5. experience of laboratory-based research and experimental design, including safe working practices and data management. 6. excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical information effectively to interdisciplinary audiences. 7.
