Residential Child Care Worker

JOB SUMMARY

The post holder must have an interest in working intensively with children who have a Severe Learning Disability, other comorbid diagnosis, limited to no verbal communication, need help with personal care and present a range of challenging behaviours. These behaviours are their way of communicating a need or emotion, but they can cause challenges for staff supporting them through this. The post holder will work as part of a team in providing safe effective person centred and compassionate care.

The ethos of the home is positive behaviour support, and this is the underlying principle of how we interact, assess and respond to the needs of the children in the home. This role requires the post holder to contribute and undertake duties based on their care needs, which will include all elements of personal care for the children.
