**Unit Description – Capacity Management Team**
The Bed Placement Nurse functions within a centralized Capacity Management team that coordinates patient placement across the hospital and health system.
Key aspects of the unit include:
+ A high-complexity, fast-paced environment
+ Close collaboration with:
+ Nursing leadership
+ Physicians
+ Transfer Center
+ Emergency Departments
+ Inpatient units
+ Environmental Services and other operational stakeholders
The team supports patients of all ages and acuity levels, including those requiring specialized resources. This is a non-bedside role with no direct patient assignments, relying instead on clinical expertise and systems thinking to balance patient needs, safety, and real-time capacity dem...
