Description: The unit has 26 beds and 3 trauma bays. There is a fast track treatment area with 4 beds. Triage is conducted within the department; there is no separate triage area. Emergency Room nurses manage ER holds intermixed within the ER. A designated lower ligature risk room with a camera is available for patient safety. In-house security is present 24/7 and is located just outside the department. The unit sees approximately 60 patients per day. Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 to 4.
