Opportunity Description
Medical Icu Rn
This position involves caring for critically ill patients. The primary patient population will consist of progressive care patients. There may also be less frequent care for ICU patients. The nurse to patient ratio will typically be 1:3 for progressive care patients and 1:2 to 1:3 for ICU patients. The unit utilizes equipment such as heart monitors, electronic medical records, and EKG machines. This is a mixed acuity unit, and a nurse may float to other units as needed. Common diagnoses include sepsis, respiratory failure, renal failure, myocardial infarctions, pulmonary embolism, and pneumonia. Nurses are expected to monitor and provide care based on the acuity of the patients. The dress code includes Caribbean blue scrubs with specific color restrictions for jackets and undergarments.
