Responsibilities
Audubon's ICU open heart unit is a 48 bed ICU with 36 ICU beds and 12 CVICU Beds. The large focus of this ICU unit is cardiac care with an emphasis in open heart recovery. They are the only Norton facility that is DNV VAD accredited. It is the ECMO center for Norton Healthcare. This unit sees complex, critically ill patients.
A professional nurse is an individual accountable for the care of a group of patients. The Registered Nurse (RN) focuses on safe effective patient and family centered care, customer satisfaction and quality outcomes. The RN is responsible for assisting in maintaining a financially stable unit, promoting his/her own development with an emphasis on evidence based practice and education supported by a Practice Governance framework.
