SECURITY SPECIALIST

Summary About the Position: As the New York District (NAN) Security Specialist, works under the supervision of the Chief of Staff (CoS) to administer, execute and support security programs and activities at NAN Headquarters (HQ). Responsibilities Facilitating the district's office access control program and the organization's DoD Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS) and Real -Time Automated Personnel Identification System (RAPIDS). Initiating or renewing background investigations of district personnel utilizing automated investigation programs. Capturing and transmitting recorded fingerprints to the FBI and/or Office of Personnel Management (OPM) utilizing approved Live Scan Software and Hardware equipment. Coordinating with external agencies such as Office of Personnel Management (OPM), Defense Investigative Service (DIS), Defense Industrial Security Service (DISS)) relative to the conduct of background investigations.
