Senior Access to Information Officer

Public Sector People are working with council in Sydney who are a Senior Access to Information Officer to join them on a parental cover contract. 

The role will start in ASAP/July 2026 and will continue until approx October 2027.

This pivotal role is responsible for overseeing Council's access to information activities, acting as the key advisor on matters relating to the:

• Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009 (GIPA)
• Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act (PPIPA)
• Copyright Act

You will lead the Access to Information function, supervise staff, manage complex requests and reviews, provide expert advice across the organisation, and drive continuous improvement in information access and privacy practices.
This role plays a critical part in supporting open government, transparency, privacy protection, and community trust.
