/Accountabilities:This is a senior role in insurance litigation, supporting TD Insurance across its business lines, principally property, casualty, and life and health insurance, with accountability in the areas of strategic and tactical legal advice, counsel, relationships and oversight, development of others, and special projects.
Oversight of litigated claims involving TD Insurance, including managing active litigation, and reviewing and providing advice on matters proceeding to trial, appeal or posing significant risk to TD Insurance or its insureds.
Directly instructing external counsel in respect of litigation at all levels of court; note, however, that this role does not involve in-court advocacy.
Providing legal advice to TD Insurance on matters such as class actions, coverage issues, first-party claims, underwriting, investigations and internal processes.
