Senior lecturer in experimental condensed matter physics

The School of Physics at the University of the Witwatersrand invites applications for the position of Senior Lecturer in Experimental Condensed Matter Physics. We seek an experienced candidate whose research aligns with and complements the activities of the Materials Physics Research Institute, which are broadly organized into three thematic areas: (a) Materials for Energy Applications, (b) Low-Dimensional Materials, and (c) Novel Quantum & Applied Materials. In particular, candidates with substantial experience in low-temperature and low-dimensional physics and expertise in the operation and maintenance of cryogenic systems (including cryostats), microscopic characterization instruments, electrical transport measurement systems, and deposition equipment is essential. Experience working with a dilution refrigerator will be considered an added advantage.
