Senior Medical Laboratory Scientist

To assist Senior Principal Medical Scientist or Principal Medical Scientist or Senior Medical Scientist in the supervision, carrying out and maintenance of daily operations in all aspects of Point of Care Testing, to participate in teaching and undertake administrative tasks so as to achieve smooth running of POCT service at all times.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties (80%)

• Supervise and train POCT users.
• Operate the POCT devices, Laboratory Information System and POCT software/middleware.
• Participate in POCT committee.
• Develop tests menu through joint efforts of the laboratory and appropriate medical staff via needs assessment to ensure that only clinically relevant tests are included for point of care.
• Devise a complete quality assurance programme.
• Establish and review all POCT SOPs.
