Senior Medical Officer / General Surgeon - Colorectal

Position Overview

Health New Zealand, TeWhatu Ora – Counties Manukau is a major tertiary teaching hospital serving a population of 500,000 in South and East Auckland. We are seeking a full‑time Colorectal and General Surgeon to join our department.

Responsibilities

• Perform elective and acute colorectal and general surgery.
• Perform elective colonoscopies.

Department Overview

The Department of General Surgery consists of 23 specialist surgeons, five of whom are CSSANZ colorectal surgeons. There are excellent collegial relationships within the speciality and between other surgical and medical services. The colorectal division values clinical teaching and participation in research.

Qualifications

• Completion of FRACS in General Surgery.
• Post‑fellowship training in colorectal surgery through CSSANZ completed by February2027.
