Senior Practitioner - Adoption

Our client Southend-on-Sea City council is looking for a Senior Practitioner to join their Adoption team.

Purpose of Role

• To ensure Southend Borough Council provides a professional Adoption Service that focuses on children's best interests.
• To provide professional and comprehensive casework on the most complex cases within the service. To take a lead on Post Adoption Services and to be a mentor and advisor to team members.

Main Responsibilities

• To provide an efficient and cost effective social work service to children, young people and their families, ensuring that the needs of the children and their parents/carers are professionally assessed.
• To assess and support adoptive carers to ensure that the care that they provide meets the needs of the individual child.
