Role Overview

Senior Regulatory Specialist – responsible for developing and influencing the safety, security and environmental regulation for future fusion power plants. The role requires eligibility for Security Clearance (SC), including DBS checks and possibly an open‑source data search. Onsite working is expected for three days a week, with flexible working arrangements available. The position can be based at UKAEA Culham, Oxfordshire.

The Fusion Safety Advisory team is tasked with creating the future safety, security and environmental regulatory framework for fusion power plants to ensure it is proportionate to the risk of fusion compared to fission. This role provides technical leadership and manages activities related to fusion safety, security and environmental regulation domestically and internationally.
